Apple updates not working:

Had an issue with an apple not able to get updates.

1. The Update setting were looking at an odd loction pretendco.com
2. Start the Terminal program
3. Run this command
4. defaults delete /Library/Preferences/com.apple.SoftwareUpdate CatalogURL
5. Start the Software Update program
6. It then started downloading the update catelouge
7. Gave me a list of software that could be installed
8. You can choose what you want to download.
9. I was doing this becuase schoolmaster was not working as it needed rosetta, but would not download it
10. After doing the Catalog delete and download of the new catalog this all worked fine
11. I started school master
12. it would not run as it needed rosetta
13. it asked if I wanted to download rosetta
14. I did
15. Rosetta was downloaded and installed
16. school master now works.
